Requirements of the Institutional Chaplaincy


Hospital, Prison, Pastoral Counseling and other Institutional Chaplains:

  • Must be licensed or ordained by a quadrennial conference, be in good standing, and a nominal member of a local Pentecostal Holiness Church.
  • Undergraduate and theological education as required by the hiring institution.
  • Licensing level as required by the hiring institution.
  • Two years of pastoral or other related ministerial experience beyond the required academic or theological education.
  • Exceptions may be granted when the board deems the experience to be appropriate or adequate for the position.


Classifications include:

  • Professional full-time,
  • Professional part-time, and volunteer.

Volunteer chaplains can apply for and receive associate membership in Chaplains Ministries.
