It was Alfred, Lord Tennyson who wrote in his poem, "Morte D’Arthur," "More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of." Therefore, we should follow his clarion call to pray for one another like a fountain night and day.
E. M. Bounds wrote, God shapes the world by prayer. Prayers are deathless. They outlive the lives of those who utter them.
The purpose of this calendar is to encourage you to pray intelligently and systematically for each of our chaplains, their spouses, and families, as well as the leaders of our church, our nation, and other evangelical ministries. You will be blessed as you pray specifically for these people, and you will be a blessing.

Pray that God will keep them in health and prosper them spiritually. Let us thank God for a spiritual leader like Bishop Leggett who is a man of honesty and integrity, and who seeks unity in the church. Thank God we experienced harmony and unity at the 24th General Conference in Cincinnati in August 2001.
